Caspar Brötzmann MassakerCaspar Brötzmann Massaker

Caspar Brötzmann is tall, down to earth and surrounded by a stoical calmness. He is a passionate and instinctive musican - plays guitar / bass, sings , composes his own music and paints. All in his own, personal way with references to the style of modern primitives. On stage he airs the magic of a master of ceremonies and throws his music like a densely woven net over the audience. Playing guitar is something very special and irreplaceable for him, it is his translation to the world, his life elixir. He lives his primary instinct and creates his own musical universe. Holding the guitar in his big hands, she is girlfriend and weapon, translator of deep emotions: heavy, loud and precise, light and transparent. Soul deep, projecting wide screen, atmospheric sound pictures. Timeless. Classic. Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth considers Caspar as the best guitar player he has ever met. The Band Caspar Brötzmann Massaker is his lifework. Together with his friends, on bass and vocals, Eduardo Delgado Lopez. On drums Danny Arnold Lommen. They mean a lot to each other and share everything. They keep themselves grounded in the music and beyond that, to transport stories and pictures into music and out into reality. Massaker has, over the years, made five albums. All released by music loving labels like Rough Trade De, Thirsty Ear USA, Blast First/Mute UK. Caspar also made a solo album he called "Mute Massaker", and has recorded on different occasions with FM Einheit (Merry Christmas), Diamanda Galas, Page Hamilton and has even played on tour as guest guitarist in Pigface/ Killig Joke. He has toured the world, from America to Japan, played in Finland, across Europe, all the way to Africa. There were seven different constellations of musicians till to the temporary end in 2000: Eduardo Delgado, Jürgen Beuth, Jon Stöckelmann, Frank Neumeier, Danny Lommen, Ingo Krauss, Bruno Gebhard, Cathy Nizzari, Michael Werthmüller, Hyco, Saskia, Henry Bogdan, Robert Dämmig, Otmar Seum, Herrmann, FM Einheit. Now in 2010 the original line up with Caspar Brötzmann, Eduardo Delgado Lopez and Danny Arnold Lommen is back. Stronger, deeper and better than ever. With old and new songs that will directly approach us and let us experience what we have missed during all these years.
