Ghost Bees

Ghost Bees began in 2005 as a cacophonous orchestra, with steel drum, bass, drum kit and violin accompanying the vocals of twin sisters Romi and Sari Lightman. In 2007, sisters Romi and Sari abandoned the large group in favour of a more minimalist approach. Sari took up the mandolin, and the sisters performed through 2007 as a duo. The sisters toured in this format several times across Canada and into the United States. Over antique mandolin and guitar accompaniment, Ghost Bees weave intricate vocal harmonies, dispensing dramatic tales and sorrowful lament like a two-headed, female balladeer.
