Juiceboxxx
Juiceboxxx is a 22-year-old rapper
and producer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His brand of
"energy music" is rooted in the past 30 years of rap
and dance and informed by an urgent rock and roll sensibility.
Live, Juiceboxxx is "energy music" in the flesh, delivering
a thunderstorm of intensity that is at once thrillingly
unhinged and masterfully delivered. Juiceboxxx started
rapping, producing, and performing at the age of 15.
He spent his high school career playing shows with a
strange mix of punks and noiseniks in basements and
rental halls throughout America's heartland. There is
little known documentation of this era, and it remains
shrouded in mystery and legend. 2005 through 2007 saw
Juiceboxxx DIY barn burning throughout the United States
and releasing an EP as well as a split 7" with Brooklyn
punk legends Japanther. In addition, he linked up with
New York City producer Dre Skull to create "Sweat",
which became an international dance smash and allowed
Juiceboxxx to bring his in-your-face live show to glossy
discotheques the world over. "Center Stage", the collaborative
follow up to "Sweat", continued Juiceboxxx's dance floor
winning streak, getting multiple spins on Annie Mac's
BBC Radio 1 program and even landing a spot on Sinden's
essential mix. Soon to be released solo singles on Vicious
Pop and Iheartcomix Records, however, represent a new
direction. On these releases, Juiceboxxx combines dance
rap formalism with lyrical themes influenced by the
conflicted, open road optimism that comes from living
on (and for) the highway. Musically, they jam together
decades of music but are rooted in rap, creating a vibe
that is wholly singular to Juiceboxxx. If Juiceboxxx
hasn't come to your town yet, just wait. Be it in a
basement, on a dance floor or at a rock club, it doesn't
matter. Juiceboxxx doesn't draw the line in the sand.
He wants to be everywhere at once, from the bottom to
the top. With that said, it is hard to say exactly what
the future holds for Juiceboxxx, but one thing is certain:
every time his feet hit the stage you can expect a show.
That means no less than 200 percent, a lot of guts,
and more than enough tension.
