Siinai
Formed
in the minds of four friends who all share a long background
in the Finnish music scene, Sinaii deliver a spectacular
debut shining with hymnic krautrock and large instrumental
soundscapes. After working with bands of international
status like Joensuu1685, Zebra and Snake & Äänijännite,
the four members now present "Olympic Games", a piece
of music doing justice to the genius of its creators
and reminding of kraut pioneers like Neu!, Can and La
Dusseldorf. However, it isn't limited to them. Psychedelic
carpets of sounds and melodies of grief and relief are
tightly interwoven and result in an manifest of powerful
hooks often likely to play with repetition and eliciting
a feeling of bliss. Spencer Krug (Wolf Parade, Sunset
Rubdown, Swan Lake) also recognized this potential and
is going to collaborate with the band as part of his
new Moonface project later in 2011. When it comes to
playing live, the quadriga also knows how to convince
and signed to Splendour (of Montreal, Casiokids, Harrys
Gym) shortly after their astonishing set at this years
SPOT Festival in Denmark.
"Siinai were brilliant: almost totally
instrumental, with intense Krautish rhythms, ebbing
and flowing melodies delivered with an intensity that
only Finnish bands can summon." Kieron Tyler (MOJO/The
Arts Desk) on their set at SPOT
