Thee
Attacks
"Thee Attacks are a mod-looking four-piece
from Aalborg in north Denmark. Soulful vocals complement a '65-era Townshend guitarist,
who whacks out Have Love, Will Travel-style riff after riff. So good - and with
no covers - they'll easily move beyond the garage and could crossover to become
a successor to The Hives. Primitivist über-producer Liam Watson is here and smiling
along." MOJO Magazine
Don't let the age of the four Danes, around
20, fool you: THEE Attacks play great garage rock with enormous riffs that could
also be out of the golden era of the British mods. Their interpretations of the
60ies sound transfer on their debut "That's Mister Attack To You" Beat, R'n'B
and the Protopunk of bands like The Kinks, The Sonics and The Who into the year
2010. Produced by Liam Watson (who was also responsible for the "Elephant" album
of The White Stripes) in the Toe Rag Studios in London, that are known for their
unique collection of analogue vintage equipment, that was also exclusively used
for the recordings of "That's Mister Attack To You". But the album is more then
a homage to the bloom of the garage sound. Jimmy Attack's voice and the song writing
of the whole band sound surprisingly mature. The international music press is
also impressed by THEE ATTACKS. David Fricke of Rolling Stone said after their
show at this year's SPOT Festival: "My new Danish favourite band is Thee Attacks.
They were so fantastic. A band like that doesn't exist in the USA." Thee
Attacks are: Jimmy Attack - Leadvocals, Guitar Terry
Attack - Guitar, Organ Johnny Attack - Bass Richie Attack - Drums, Percussion
